Babe Ruthless
So, let's review who's in this movie: Ellen Page, Drew Barrymore, Alia Shawkat, Kristen Wiig, Eve, Juliette Lewis... and Drew directed. Yeah, I wanna see it! I wish I was tough enough for roller derby, but since I'm more of a Betty Bookworm than a Smashlee Simpson, watching is just fine for me. Maybe I'll make it to a Philly Roller Girls match one of these days.

I am also excited to see this movie! I'm a huge Drew fan, and can't wait to see her directorial debut.
Did you know it's based off a pretty cute YA book called Derby Girl? It's by Shauna Cross (she also wrote the screenplay for the movie). It's a little too uber-cool kid speak for me, kind of similar to Nick & Nora, not to mention Diablo Cody's Juno. It's fitting that Ellen Page is playing the lead character of Bliss, I guess. I'm in the midst of re-reading it, because the movie is coming out soon. (October I've heard?)

After I watched the movie trailer, I looked up the book and was about to put it on my "to read" list when I found that it was already there! (It's a long list...) Now I have to bump it up to the top.
And I love Drew, too! So cool for her that she's become a director.
